Europe Prize
Gdynia received the Europe Prize on 25th April 2002. This award is the highest distinction that a European city or territorial authorities can be presented with for promoting the idea of European unity.

Council of Europe Plaque of Honour
The Council of Europe Plaque of Honour is granted to those city boards or local authorities which have already held the Flag of Honour for a few years and whose activities for the European unity idea were highly evaluated to deserve this award.
Council of Europe Flag of Honour
The Council of Europe Flag of Honour is granted to city boards or other local authorities in recognition of their achievements in propagation of the European integration idea.
Distinctions of the Council of Europe
The Committee on the Environment, Regional Planning and Local Authorities of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe awards cities and municipalities by granting the following distinctions: European Diploma, Flag of Honour, Plaque of Honour and Europe Prize. Receiving a higher distinction is possible under condition of holding a former one for a few years.
