Lighthouses open to public
Hel - at the very end of the Hel Peninsula. It is an octagonal tower, 41,5 m tall, with a narrowing cross-section upwards, built of dark red brick and topped with a small gallery housing the lantern. The winding staircase is protected by a concrete balustrade. The way up to the lantern goes along very narrow and steep metal steps.
The height: 41,5 m, the light height: 38,5 m, the light range: 18 nm (about 36 km)
Sopot - the tower built on the cross-section of a square. The entrance into the lighthouse is just behind the gate into the pier (entrance tickets to the pier must be bought in order to get to the lighthouse).

Gdańsk Nowy Port - one of the most beautiful Baltic lighthouses, opened in 1894 (the geographical parameters 54º24`28``N, 18º39`5011E), height: 27 m, was a twin lighthouse to the one in Cleveland (Ohio) - does not exist any longer. Until 1984 it indicated the way to ships heading for the port of Gdańsk. At the same time it was the pilots' tower and the ball of time - its lifting or fall every noon enabled ship masters setting the chronometers.
It has been open to public since 2004. There, you can admire the historic optical equipment and a magnificent exhibition of off-shore lighthouses. The view from top depicts the harbour, Westerplatte and the Gulf of Gdańsk.
